A Country & Western Presentation by Vince Gill

Wow… there’s only so many things you can say about one of the best Country and Western musicians in the industry right now. And I’m not talking about Taylor Swift, or Jason Alden (cause lets face it, they aren’t good). Vince Gill has been in the business for over 30 years and from what I saw last night, he IS the that fine wine that only gets better with age. From 8:30 to 11:15p.m. in Houston’s Arena Theater, Vince Gill played for a well packed crowd full of fans that screamed “I love you,” more than a dozen times. In between songs, he shared stories from the road, conversations with friends, memories from his childhood, and when asked, he shook the hands of two lucky fans.

There’s really only one more thing I can say about this prime example of REAL country music, and it’s apparently something that I should have already known: This man has SERIOUS mad skills on his guitar. He played those things like smearing butter on toast. And I mean that with all the sincerity in the world. It was a night full of beautiful and heart wrenching music, including songs he wrote in the memory of his father and brother. With every lick he played, he revealed a piece of his soul to the crowd. I was just glad that I got the chance to see it. Below are some pictures from the show.
