All that talk earlier this year about Amazon allowing writers to put out their books on the website was actually just a heads up for exactly what is going down now. Reported today, a New York Times Best Seller, Tim Ferris of “4 Hour,” is the first writer to enter into Amazon’s actual publishing stable. Although most people would see this as an excellent business idea and wonderful opportunity for writers to suddenly cut out the middle man in the publishing process, most of Book Publishers (I think) are going to be really scared. The only Publisher to come out on the record has been HarperCollins. The UK executive called this news “a concern.”
Should we be concerned for them?
