Spotify Now Available on your TV

Now before everyone gets TOO excited this offer is just for those premium users of Spotify. How is the possible, you ask? Well it’s the Boxee Box. It’s a set-top box allowing you to stream from the internet to your TV through the open source software. “Since Spotify works both in the U.S. and in eight European countries, it should help expand our music reach abroad and provide another great on-demand music service which is where we think most music consumption is headed.” The only downside to this app is, users will not be able to edit their playlists or do searches using it. Andrew Kippen, Boxee Marketing VP, believes in training people to realize, “they shouldn’t be doing that stuff on their TV.” Maybe not you but I know plenty of people that would want full access regardless of what they’re streaming their music on.

Speaking of Spotify, it’s been hitting the news a lot lately in many articles about how it’s changing the very way we listen to music. What do you think? Has Spotify changed the listening experience? Leave a comment below.
